4x4 Sudoku for Kids and Beginners
Mini sudoku with the digits 1–4 and tiny 2×2 boxes — the friendliest possible introduction to sudoku, and perfect for kids.
Rules of 4x4 Sudoku
Same logic as classic sudoku, scaled down to a 4×4 grid:
- Each row contains the digits 1–4 exactly once.
- Each column contains the digits 1–4 exactly once.
- Each of the four 2×2 boxes contains the digits 1–4 exactly once.
That's the whole game. With only four digits and sixteen cells, every puzzle stays visible at a glance — children can hold the whole grid in their head, and adults find it a relaxing warm-up.
Why Start with 4x4?
- No candidate notes needed — scanning alone solves every grid.
- Fast games — most puzzles take one to three minutes.
- Teaches the core habit — "what is missing from this row, column, and box?" transfers directly to bigger grids.
