Medium Sudoku — Play Free Medium 9×9 Puzzles
A balanced challenge: enough clues to keep things flowing, few enough to make you think. This is where sudoku starts getting addictive.
What Makes a Sudoku Medium?
Medium puzzles begin with roughly 30–35 given digits. Scanning alone no longer finishes the grid — you will hit points where several digits are possible in a cell, and that is exactly when candidate notes become your best tool. Turn on notes mode, pencil in the possibilities, and let the patterns reveal themselves.
Techniques You Need
- Naked pairs: if two cells in a unit can only be the same two digits, those digits can be removed from every other cell in that unit.
- Pointing pairs: if a digit's candidates inside a box all sit in one row or column, that digit can be eliminated elsewhere along that line.
- Box-line reduction: the mirror of pointing pairs — if a digit in a row or column is confined to one box, remove it from the rest of that box.
How to Get Faster
- Update your notes the moment you place a number; stale notes cause most mistakes.
- After every placement, re-scan the affected row, column, and box before moving on.
- Use the hint button when truly stuck instead of guessing — then study the cell it revealed.
