Hard Sudoku — Play Free Hard 9×9 Puzzles
Sparse clues, deep logic chains, zero guessing required. Hard sudoku rewards players who master advanced patterns and stay disciplined with notes.
What Makes a Sudoku Hard?
Hard puzzles start with only around 26–30 given digits. Early moves are scarce: you may need several candidate techniques chained together before a single digit falls. Every puzzle is still verified to have exactly one logical solution — patience, not luck, is the winning strategy.
Techniques You Need
- Naked and hidden triples: three digits confined to three cells of a unit let you clear candidates elsewhere.
- X-Wing: when a digit's candidates form a perfect rectangle across two rows and two columns, other candidates along those four lines can be eliminated.
- Swordfish: the X-Wing extended to three rows and three columns.
- Chain spotting: following "if this cell is X, then that cell must be Y" logic until a contradiction or placement appears.
Hard-Mode Habits
- Fill in complete candidate notes early — advanced patterns are invisible without them.
- Hunt for one pattern at a time: pairs first, then pointing/box-line, then fish patterns.
- When nothing works, re-check earlier eliminations — hard puzzles often hide a follow-up to a move you already made.
